Versace Eros Pour Femme Review

Now the mornings are brighter, the flowers are blooming and the birds are chirping I've decided that Spring is finally upon us. I love this time of year, everyone seems to be in a happy mood after a dull winter and everybody has high hopes for warmer weather and seaside adventures.  It's also the time of year for change, and I've decided that I want to live a healthier lifestyle and carry out a frequent exercise regime (I've even signed up for yoga!), I hope that it leads me onto sharing my experience with you.

Change occurs to me in a variety of different ways. I haven't really had a signature scent since last summer and  so I've been looking for a perfume for some time now. Recently, House of Fraser very kindly got in touch with me and asked if I wanted to try out a new release from Versace, I couldn't wait for it to arrive for me to share it with you all. The fragrance was released after the popular mens edition in 2012 so finally Versace has brought out a version for us ladies! His and Hers anyone...?

I can admit that I've been wearing this perfume everyday since I received it. I'd say that after immediately spraying the perfume, I wasn't sure the smell was for me however as time went on the perfume really settled into my skin and the sweetness of it became so attractive. It is an ideal fragrance for spring due to the fresh floral aroma with slight fruity hints. To me, the strength lies in the citrus fruits that glisten and shimmer all day as well as addition of the spring like flower bouquet! All in all, I've really enjoyed the scent so far and will be my staple from now on.

One obvious thing to note is the gorgeous golden greek packaging the perfume arrives in. I love the bottle, it sits on my table glistening in the sunlight. It's sooooo luxurious and I love leaving it out for everybody to look at! Versace have payed such close attention to detail, the greek motif running along the edge and the iconic Medusa face on the bottle and top, all add to the greek essence of the perfume itself.

House of Fraser are currently selling this perfume in 30ml, 50ml and 100ml bottles which you can buy on their website here.

Let me know if you've already tried out this perfume or if you're looking forward to buying it in the comments below! What are your favourite scents?

Skincare on a Budget

Skincare on a budget

One of the problems with buying skincare products is the hefty price tag that comes with them. As my skin is relatively clear and spot free, I tend not to spend so much on high end items meaning it's easy for me to escape the extortionate prices. My skincare routine is relatively cheap, I use products which I know work well with my sensitive skin and therefore leaving it in good condition.

It is worth baring in mind that a lot of shops do there own brand versions of products, however I tend to stay clear of these as I've had problems in the past due to certain chemicals. I'd much rather pay that little bit extra just so I feel more satisfied with what I'm applying to my face.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water £3.32
I apply this product to a cotton pad and gently use it to remove any make up or excess oils from my face. It works to cleanse the face, and is an ideal product as you don't need to wash off anything after! It is always worth doing this a couple of times, just so that you are 100% certain your face is clean. The bottle says it lasts for 200 uses, I've never kept a tally but I can definitely agree that this lasts for a long period of time.

Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner £2.19
After cleansing, I apply this a toner to another pad. Toner is a product that is relatively knew to me, in fact it's quite common that a lot of people skip this stage out! It is important to tone as it works to remove any final dirt, oil and debris from your face which will result in the skin appearing hydrated and with a natural radiance.

Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser £2.66
Using a pea sized amount of moisturiser, I massage this all over my face to restore the moisture in the skin. Ideally, you should never cleanse/remove make up and not moisturise as you'll notice your skin will begin to dry out. I like to focus applying this product to the tops of my nose and my cheeks as these are the driest areas on my face. Using a rich moisturiser can often be too much for young skin, if you're not sure which one to buy always check with the assistants in store.

Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Eye Balm £2.66
I take a tiny squeeze of this eye balm onto my finger and dab this under my eyes. It is important to not apply this directly under the eye as this can result in puffiness. This skin is the most sensitive area on your face and so to apply this product effectively it should be placed onto the eye socket bone.

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm £1.94
Finally my lips need moisturising whether I'm applying a lippy later or if i'm going to bed. It's the same with your face, it is important to hydrate and moisten your lips so that they do not dry out resulting in cracks appearing. I love the burst bees lip balms as they have a nice taste and fragrance but it's also great to know that you're applying something natural to your face.

I hope this post helped if any of you are struggling on achieving a good skin regime when you have a strict budget. Let me know of any products you love below!

Please note that all prices were accurate at the time of publishing.
