Recently I've been trying a perfume by Jo Malone, Wood Sage and Sea Salt. It comes in the familiar packaging, a classy little box tied with a ribbon, but inside is the real beauty! The bottle is a really simple and sleek shape, I have the 30ml which is just perfect if you want to slip it in your handbag for when you're on the go.

The fragrance is really refreshing. Every time I spray it I can picture myself walking along the shore of the seaside with the waves trickling at my feet, awaiting to see what the day ahead holds! I find the scent to be so fresh, I can particularly make out the spray of the sea salt which is so natural and restoring. There is also an earthy and rocky aroma which is coming from the wood sage, it compliments the sea salt well. It's definitely not a girly or floral fragrance and so it's perfect for me as it isn't too sweet or sickly.

I think Jo Malone have payed close attention to detail with this scent, I feel it aims to bring back your own personal memories of those seaside days which makes this so unique.   I really enjoy wearing this and mainly wear it on special occasions just because I fear that I'd wear this so much it will vanish! Although I'm pretty sure I'd be up for repurchasing it for another, I really want to try all their other gorgeous perfumes too, plus their candles always entice me!

You can find this perfume on the House Of Fraser website here, where it is being sold in 30ml and 100ml bottles.

Summer Saviour

Gradual tanning moisturiser

I think it's certain to say that the sun is giving everything its got to make an appearance here in England. It has dawned on me that soon it's time for my skin to be re-united with the warm rays of the sun, however it's always this time of year where I remember just how pale my skin has become. Now, I'm not a typical Essex girl who goes and get themselves a spray tan to make their skin the colour of a tangerine, but I do get a little self conscious and need a quick fix!

In the first few weeks of summer I like to just prep my skin with a gradual tan moisturiser.  I apply it all over my body and this just gives me a little bit of colour so that I'm not transparent! I particularly love this one from Garnier, I'm not aware if there are different colour intensities but I always pick up the Deep sun-kissed one. Obviously the more you apply it then the darker you go, it also depends on the frequency of application.
I like to apply this after one of my weekly showers, but first I concentrate on my elbows, knees and any other dry areas of my body with another moisturiser and just let it soften the skin a little. I smooth the grad tan all aver my body and only lightly concentrate on my knees and elbows just because I don't want those areas to appear cakey. It's also worth noting that it's best to wash your hands every once in a while otherwise they will be glowing haha! (mistake learnt)

I'd generally say that the moisturiser takes affect over night but I always allow my second shower of the week to wash off any excess just so it's a bit more natural. My skin looks naturally bronzed and what's better is that there are no tan lines! I then just apply it as and when I need it but soon enough my natural tan is developing by then. I would say that this product does still produce the fake tan smell, it does look enticing with this apricot extract malarky but unfortunately it only lasts a couple of hours :(

What are your staple summer products?

I really love to dress in an androgynous style lately and these unisex tees from ENGlorious were the ideal supplement. ENGlorious is an independent online store run by a designer inspired by her surroundings and style. I love stores like this as everything is unique and handmade, this means that the designs get updated frequently so if there's anything you like, grab it quick! The tees are of a really high quality, the material is made from a strong jersey that will last a lifetime and the prints have not budged at all.

I was asked to pair these two tees up and do a little outfit post (eek it's only my second one- still new to this haha). Both of the tees are a medium, this gives a bit of bagginess which I like in a tee! For these I wore them with denim, I thought it gave a bit of edge to the outfit and a nice casual approach. With the pinafore dress I wore my favourite little backpack, I like the look it gives, it reminds me of my childhood fashion traumas!

I'm really loving these tees, I can't wait till the sun is fully out so I can wear them through out the summer. Let me know what you think of these and if you have or are going to check out ENGlorious!
