It seems that I only ever post ridiculously chocolately DIYs now. I originally made this one for Valentine's Day (cute) and I knew as soon as I made it that I needed to post about it. I thought it would be perfect timing to post seeing as Mother's Day is creeping up. There is no possibility that making this can go wrong, so it is a quick, easy and simple gift to knock up in less than an hour!
YOU WILL NEED
- 2 chocolate bars (200g) of your choice
- Your fave snacks
- Greaseproof paper
- Baking tray
First step is to break your chocolate bars into small chunks and melt them in the microwave (the smaller you break - the quicker it takes to melt). Whilst waiting, place some greaseproof paper onto a baking tray. There's no need to grease it, you just want to have a surface the chocolate won't stick to.
Drizzle your chocolate onto your baking tray, trying not to eat it! Spread into the sides by tilting the tray but don't make it too thin.
Now you literally just throw your favourite chocolates and sweets onto the melted chocolate. You may find that you'll need to cut up some bits, I cut all of my pieces in half. Put your tray in the fridge (or freezer if you're impatient), lick the bowl clean and wait. It does seem like an eternity, but you want to make sure the slab is completely solid through once you take it out.
When mine was partially solid, I melted some of the white chocolate buttons and popped them in a plastic bag with the end snipped - creating my own piping bag. I then did some artistic, sketchy drizzling over the top and popped it back in the fridge.
Once completely ready you can peel the paper off your amazing chocolate slab and cut it up into chunks or leave as it is - ready to enjoy!!
Hope you like this one :) I was actually really surprised to not find this already on pinterest or instagram... but if you make one let me know and tag me!
p.s. sorry if I've ruined lent!
